“I Tried It First”: Urologist Undergoes Penis Enlargement Filler Procedure to Better Understand His Patients

It is a silent anxiety that plagues millions of men: research suggests nearly half worry about the size of their penis. For Ohio-based urologist Dr. John Peck, 55, this is a daily conversation. For two decades, he told his patients that obsessing over size was futile because safe, realistic solutions simply didn’t exist.

That changed last year when he discovered a new dermal filler technique. However, rather than immediately pushing it on his patients, Dr. Peck took a highly unusual step: he volunteered to try the procedure on himself first.

The Ultimate “Hands-On” Approach to Medicine

Dr. Peck, a father of two, had previously undergone a vasectomy so he could accurately describe the recovery process to his patients. He viewed trying the new enlargement procedure as a logical continuation of that philosophy.

“My penis size was not a big issue, no pun intended,” Dr. Peck shared. “But I know for a lot of men, it is. Patients often ask whether I’ve had procedures myself, and I think it helps me understand whether I should recommend a surgery and what they’ll go through.”

When he pitched the idea to his partner, her initial response was simply, “Why?” His playful reply: “Why not?”

How the Diamond XL 360 Procedure Works

The specific treatment Dr. Peck underwent is the Diamond XL 360, pioneered by Delaware-based urologist Dr. Stuart Diamond. Unlike riskier surgical implants, this method utilizes carefully placed medical-grade dermal fillers—similar to the gels used in facial cosmetics to plump lips or smooth wrinkles.

    • The Technique: Using only a local anesthetic, the filler is injected into up to 40 distinct points along the shaft. The goal is to increase size while maintaining a natural shape.

    • The Cost: The treatment ranges from $8,000 to $15,000.

    • The Timeline: The procedure takes roughly 45 to 60 minutes.

    • The Results: On average, men gain 1 to 2 inches in girth, with some experiencing up to an inch of added flaccid length.

Dr. Peck initially tested a temporary filler that dissolved after four months to ensure there were no complications. Satisfied with the outcome, he upgraded to a longer-lasting formula designed to remain effective for two to five years.

The Results and Recovery: “It’s Like Having a New Toy”

Dr. Peck successfully gained about an inch and a half in girth, though he did not experience a change in length. The added volume is noticeable in both flaccid and erect states.

“I tell everybody it is like having a new toy. It definitely is a noticeable difference when you look in the mirror… It does have a different feel to it too – heavier.” — Dr. John Peck

While he noted that orgasms feel the same, he believes the added girth has enhanced the sensation due to better physical contact, potentially improving his partner’s experience as well. He also reported a significant boost in personal confidence.

What about the side effects? Dr. Peck reported that the actual procedure was painless due to the anesthesia, with minimal bleeding. However, the recovery phase involved:

    • Bruising and swelling lasting for one to two weeks.

    • Manageable discomfort during nighttime erections.

    • A period of hypersensitivity where he was constantly “aware” of the changes while walking, before it eventually felt normal again.

A Growing Trend Among Everyday Men

According to Dr. Diamond, the demand for the Diamond XL 360 is surging. He is now treating two to three patients a week, a significant jump from two to three a month the previous year.

Interestingly, the demographic seeking this procedure is surprisingly average:

    • Most patients start with a standard erect size of 5 to 6 inches.

    • Only about 20% have what is medically classified as a small penis (under 5 inches erect).

    • A small fraction are highly endowed men (measuring 8 to 10 inches) who simply want to be even larger.

The clientele ranges from physicians and farmers to independent business owners. Dr. Diamond notes that his role is simply to be a “shepherd on their path to satisfaction and gaining more confidence.”

Now fully trained in the Diamond XL 360 method, Dr. Peck is set to begin offering the procedure to his own patients in Ohio. His ultimate advice to any man considering the investment is straightforward: “Make sure you’re doing this for yourself and not for somebody else.”
