{"id":9441,"date":"2026-05-18T14:59:49","date_gmt":"2026-05-18T14:59:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.healthoptibody.com\/?p=9441"},"modified":"2026-05-18T14:59:49","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T14:59:49","slug":"daisy-brand-deli-meat-tests-positive-for-deadly-bacteria-in-outbreak-that-has-sickened-three","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.healthoptibody.com\/?p=9441","title":{"rendered":"Daisy brand deli meat tests positive for deadly bacteria in outbreak that has sickened three"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Daisy brand headcheese products that sparked a public health alert earlier this month have tested positive for the deadly bacteria listeria.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The US Department of Agriculture&#8217;s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a public health alert regarding the brand&#8217;s ready-to-eat pork deli meat product cooked into a loaf.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">In an update posted last week, the FSIS said whole genome sequencing results show samples collected and tested by the agency, produced at Crawford Sausage Co., tested positive for the outbreak strain of listeria monocytogenes.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">This bacteria causes severe diarrhea and muscle aches, and can be deadly in pregnant women, older people and those with compromised immune systems.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The products have been linked to three sickened individuals in\u00a0<a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.com\/news\/illinois\/index.html\" id=\"mol-77e98c40-4d46-11f1-a2e0-35ba9853e696\">Illinois<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"> <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.com\/health\/article-15798695\/contamination-recalls-snack-mixes-pulled-shelves.html\">A\u00a0recall\u00a0has not been issued<\/a> because the products are no longer available for purchase but still may be in some customers&#8217; refrigerators.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">According to FSIS, the fully cooked pork headcheese products implicated in the outbreak were produced on January 20.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The alert was issued for &#8216;DAISY BRAND Meat Products HEADCHEESE&#8217; printed inside the USDA mark of inspection.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The items were distributed to retail deli stores in Illinois and Indiana.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Though the products are no longer for sale, FSIS said it &#8216;is concerned that recently purchased product may remain in consumer refrigerators.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them,&#8217;
