A father-of-three who brushed off persistent digestive problems as simple indigestion has revealed how he was later diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer<\/a> \u2013 and initially told he had just nine months to live.<\/p>\n Lawrence Fox, 67, from Canterbury, Kent, began struggling to keep food down in July 2024, after what he believed was a routine stomach issue.<\/p>\n But what followed was a rapid deterioration in his health that would ultimately lead to a life\u2013changing diagnosis.<\/p>\n He said: ‘I wasn’t digesting my food properly \u2013 it was basically just coming straight out of me.<\/p>\n ‘I also had the runs \u2013 within a couple of hours of eating anything, I needed the toilet.’<\/p>\n At first, doctors believed his symptoms were linked to diverticulitis \u2013 a condition he had suffered from previously, in which the intestine becomes inflamed or infected.<\/p>\n He was prescribed antibiotics, but there was no improvement.<\/p>\n When symptoms persisted, he was referred for an endoscopy in August \u2013 a procedure which involves a camera being inserted into the digestive tract via the throat \u2013 but nothing was found.<\/p>\n Lawrence Fox, 67, from Canterbury, initially\u00a0brushed off his digestive problems as indigestion<\/p>\n<\/div>\n![\"Lawrence](\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2026\/04\/13\/10\/107850225-15728357-image-a-1_1776071446372.jpg\")
