Do not rinse out with mouthwash straight away,&#8217; he explains.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Rinsing immediately washes away the fluoride, which is needed to re\u2011harden weakened enamel.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Leaving a thin film of toothpaste on the teeth gives minerals like fluoride, calcium and phosphate longer to soak in and strengthen the outer layer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\"><span class=\"mol-style-bold\"><span class=\"health-ccox mol-style-large\">After vomiting, wait an hour before brushing<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Nausea and vomiting are known side\u2011effects of GLP\u20111 drugs &#8211; but brushing straight after you&#8217;re sick could do more harm than good.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;When you&#8217;ve just vomited, you&#8217;ve got acid on your teeth,&#8217; says Dr Affan.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;That&#8217;s weakened or dissolved the outer layer of enamel.
